FIRE SAFETY INSPECTORS UNDERGO TRAINING

 

About one hundred (100) serving Fire Officers drawn from the various administrative regions of the Ghana National Fire Service are currently undergoing a four-day fire inspectors training course at the Fire Academy and Training School (FATS). It is the first model of programmes designed for the training need of selected officers in Fire Safety.

 

This course was put together by the Command of the Service to fill the vacuum that has been created through retirement of trained officers and other factors.

FIRE OFFICER WINS VETERANS TABLE TENNIS TROPHY

 

Assistant Divisional Officer Grade II (ADOII) Ashitey Armah, has presented medals and a Trophy to the Ag. Chief Fire Officer Mr. Edwin Blankson at the Headquarters of the Ghana National Fire Service in Accra. He was accompanied by Barrister Chris King who is the President of the Veteran Table Tennis Association.

HOME FIRE SAFETY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

The Second Lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur has launched Home Fire Safety Campaign at the Fire Academy and Training School at James Town in Accra. The Home Safety Campaign is an initiative of the Ghana National Fire Service aimed at putting in place a strategy to drive home the need to adopt and put in place fire safety measures at home to ensure that, such fires are prevented. This is because, research has shown that most home fires are preventable. However these are the most dangerous fires that claim a lot of lives. Her Excellency, Mrs.

FIRE WATCH MAGAZINE FOR THE GNFS LAUNCHED

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Prosper Douglas Bani has launched the “FIRE WATCH”, a Half Yearly magazine for the Ghana National Fire Service at the Fire Academy and Training School at James-Town in Accra. Hon. Bani was full of praise for the Transformational Leadership of the Service under the leadership of Dr. Albert Brown Gaisie which has led to the repairs and putting in commission over Eighteen (18) Fire Tenders, which had been grounded and otherwise earmarked for auction, and have been used to open more Fire Stations.

INTERIOR MINISTER COMMENDS GNFS

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Prosper Douglas Bani has commended the Command of the Ghana National Fire Service for raising the image of the Service. The Minister made the commendation on Friday at the maiden Happy Hour of the Fire Service for its Officers and Men, held at the Fire Academy and Training School at James-Town in Accra. Hon.
