DIRECTORATE PURPOSE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide technical and administrative leadership for the efficient and effective performance of the technical services functions of the Service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides inputs for the formulation of policies.
- Ensures the efficient and effective management of the human, material and financial resources of the Directorate.
- Ensures the development, review and implementation of guidelines of the Directorate.
- Provides inputs for the acquisition of the type of equipment and vehicles to be used in the Service.
- Ensures the efficient maintenance of operational equipment and vehicles in the Service.
- Ensures the development of a comprehensive database on equipment and vehicles of the Service.
- Ensures reliable network for smooth communication in the Service.
- Ensures all Radio Communication Systems across the country are functioning properly.
- Ensures allocation of Radio call signs to Fire Stations, Appliances and Offices of the Service.
- Ensure drivers of all Service vehicles have up to date and the right qualification.
- Ensures vehicles are used in accordance with the Services’ policy.
- Ensures implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme and activities of the Directorate.
- Ensures the preparation of budget and work plan of the Directorate.
- Ensures the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Directorate.
- Oversees the implementation of the Performance Management System within the Directorate.
