Provides technical, operational and administrative leadership for the efficient and effective performance of the rural and bush fires functions of the Service.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Ensures the development, review and implementation of guidelines for the management of rural and bush fires.
Ensures the training of Fire volunteers and other stakeholders’ fire volunteer squads.
Ensures the development, review and implementation of Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for rural and bushfire fighting.
Ensures development and implementation of Safety Standards and motivation packages for fire volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Operations Directorate in the provision of specifications for bushfire appliances, tools and equipment for firefighting
- Ensures the registration, certification of rural, and bushfires prevention and suppression volunteers.
